Bacon appetizers are very popular these days. It seems like every hip restaurant has a twist on bacon available on the menu. Who doesn’t love bacon!
If you haven’t prepared bacon in the oven before you are missing out! It’s a great way to cook bacon. It doesn’t make a big mess, the grease is contained and you can get the bacon as crisp as you want!
I make this bacon for a nice breakfast or for special occasions. It would also be great as an appetizer or a snack. It’s super easy and you will love it!
You need to start with a good bacon. Thick sliced bacon works best for this recipe, it’s a little more substantial and holds up better. Smithfield is my favorite bacon on the market.
Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. This makes it a lot easier to clean up!
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Add as much brown sugar as you would like. I used two tablespoons of brown sugar on the strips.
Cook the bacon in the oven for approximately 20-25 minutes. The brown sugar will burn a little so don’t be concerned. Cook to desired crispness. Whatever you do, don’t put the bacon on a paper towel after cooking. I learned the hard way and the bacon stuck to the paper!
Serve the bacon in a decorative glass. Enjoy!
